Sylvania First Cole Slaw

Our church Men's Group's famous Cole slaw.  Used at Chicken BBQs in the summer and Swiss Steak Dinners in the winter


1 head of cabbage

¼ cup of finely chopped onion

¼ cup of finely chopped green and red pepper

1¼ cup Apple Vinegar

½ cup Vegetable Oil

1¼ cup Sugar

2 teaspoons Celery Seed

2 teaspoons Salt, dash Pepper


Shred one small head of cabbage. Add ¼ cup of finely chopped onion and ¼ cup each of chopped green and red pepper. Place in a bowl, add sauce and mix. If you use a large head of cabbage, you will want to double the amount of sauce. Many believe the slaw gets better with age.
