Berry Cobbler

From Lois Mitchell.

This cobbler is like what Garnet Cloud used to make. Harold used to bring home

berries that he had picked along the railroad in his lunch-bucket and she would make his

favorite pie or cobbler and sometimes, if there was enough berries, jelly. Yum!

Ingredients

1 cup sugar

1 cup flour

1 cup whole milk

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup butter, melted

½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Stir together berries and sugar in medium bowl.

Let stand 25 minutes.

Whisk together flour, milk, baking powder and salt in medium bowl.

Stir in melted butter until well mixed.

Spread batter on to an 8 inch square pan (no need to grease the pan).

Spoon berry mixture over batter, sprinkle with cinnamon

Bake at 375 for 45 to 50 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.

Serve warm with ice cream. (I like mine with milk.)
